CERATIZIT decides on realignment

As part of this, the German locations in Besigheim and Empfingen will be closed. The products previously manufactured at the two locations will henceforth be produced at other sites of the CERATIZIT Group.

In light of persistently high cost pressure and the challenging order situation expected in the foreseeable future, CERATIZIT has decided to optimize its international production network. The measures aim to better leverage economies of scale, synergies, and location advantages while reducing redundancies.

Plants in Besigheim and Empfingen will be closed

Due to the high dependence on the automotive business as well as the markets in Germany and Europe, the focus is particularly on the locations in Besigheim and Empfingen. They are not only struggling with the currently and prospectively weak order situation but also with a challenging international competitive environment. With regard to the group's competitiveness, the decision has therefore been made to close the Besigheim and Empfingen locations during the year 2026.

Products will continue to be produced at other locations

The manufacturing capacities for the affected products will be established at other European locations of the group as part of the global footprint concept. This ensures CERATIZIT's ability to deliver and will allow it to meet all delivery commitments to its customers in the future.
The managements of the locations will soon enter into negotiations with employee representatives regarding a social plan and compensation.
