Müller Precision Tools GmbH from Sien in Rhineland-Palatinate is presenting its high-precision tools for dental and medical technology at the world's leading trade fair for the dental industry, IDS (International Dental Show) in Cologne, for the first time this year. From March 25 to 29, Müller will showcase high-performance special tools for the specific requirements of dental and medical technology in Hall 11.2 at Stand S041, together with its partner, Günter Effgen GmbH.
Among the highlights at the IDS stand is a high-performance step drill. This tool has been specially developed for machining high-strength, stainless steels and significantly reduces burr formation – a crucial advantage in the manufacturing of delicate components such as tension screws or implant components. Thanks to innovative coating and manufacturing processes, the drill achieves high tool life with consistently highest precision.
Müller Precision Tools will also present its dental milling cutters at IDS 2025. Milling dental crowns, whether as fixed dental prostheses in the form of a full cast crown or as fully anatomical crowns, requires the highest precision. At the same time, dental laboratories are under high cost pressure. Accordingly, high tool life of the milling cutters is essential to minimize tool costs and scrap. Müller's dental milling cutters feature up to 50 percent higher tool life than comparable solutions. They were developed in close collaboration with a specialized dental laboratory. With their 'Plug and Play' functionality, the dental milling cutters can be easily installed in all common dental milling machines. The high tool life and the hassle-free exchange of tools also significantly reduce setup times.
Müller's precision tools are particularly known in the metalworking industry for their high tool life and process reliability. The company takes a very analytical approach in development: Each tool is precisely adapted to the material to be processed to achieve the best possible result. 'In analyzing new markets outside the automotive sector, we found that dental technology offers significant optimization potential. Especially regarding the increase in tool life and process reliability, we saw good opportunities to leverage our expertise and experience,' explains Mathias Schmidt, Managing Director of Müller Precision Tools GmbH. This knowledge transfer was achieved in close collaboration with partners from the dental industry.
