With the new corner milling system EMP11, ZCC Cutting Tools Europe expands its milling portfolio with a powerful solution for the miniature industry, precise small parts manufacturing, and generally for small cavities. The system covers a diameter range of 6 to 16 mm and combines three matched indexable inserts with two chip breakers. This makes it suitable for both corner milling and high-feed milling in steel, stainless materials, and castings.
Structural advantages for maximum process reliability
A central feature of the EMP11 is the curved indexable inserts, which optimally position themselves in the insert seat while simultaneously increasing the rigidity of the cutting insert. Combined with the enlarged core diameter of the milling body, this results in a particularly stable tool design that reduces vibrations, increases process reliability, and ensures consistently high machining quality even under demanding conditions. The optimized cutting geometry also supports a smooth cut, low cutting forces, and excellent surface qualities.
Economic alternative to solid carbide
By using interchangeable indexable inserts, the EMP11 offers a cost-effective alternative to solid carbide end mills, especially at small tool diameters. Users benefit from significantly reduced tool costs, short setup times, high machine availability, and long tool life in combination with ZCC-CT cutting material grades.
Wide range of applications
The EMP11 is designed for machining steel, stainless materials, and cast materials, thus covering a wide industrial application field – from precise shoulder machining to highly efficient high-feed machining.
Precision and productivity through two cutting geometries
The heart of the system is newly developed two-edged indexable inserts, available in two geometries. The corner geometry CVMX060204PNR-GM produces exact 90° shoulders and allows for highly accurate shoulder machining, often eliminating the need for a subsequent finishing operation. The high-feed geometry CVMX0602XR-GM is optimized for low cutting depths and very high feeds, enabling particularly fast and economical manufacturing of grooves, pockets, and complex contours.
Conclusion
With the EMP11, ZCC-CT presents a compact, flexible, and economical corner milling system that elevates the machining of small workpieces and complex component geometries to a new level of performance. The combination of innovative cutting geometry, high stability, and economical indexable inserts makes the EMP11 a forward-looking solution for modern manufacturing processes.
