The CP-450 was developed for selected Mazak machining centers, including the machine models CV5-500, CV5-700, VCN-500, VCN-600, and VARIAXIS C-600. The fully integrated automation solution increases productivity far beyond regular operating times and allows for an uncomplicated entry into automation without the complexity of traditional automation projects.
Designed for manufacturing environments with high variety and small to medium batch sizes, the system supports users in maximizing spindle utilization, unlocking additional manufacturing capacities, and reducing dependence on skilled labor.
Instead of viewing automation as a separate engineering project, the CP-450 combines machine and automation into an integrated manufacturing platform. The solution offers seamless integration into the machine control, a unified operating concept, simplified commissioning, as well as centralized Mazak service and support.
The compact system uses 12 pallets measuring 404 x 350 mm and supports a maximum workpiece weight of 150 kg. Workpieces with a diameter of up to 450 mm can be accommodated, with the maximum workpiece height depending on the respective machine model.
The pallet allocation is controlled by the operator via an intuitive, step-by-step user interface that is seamlessly integrated into the familiar MAZATROL Smooth control. An optional dual-monitor system is available. This integrated system environment enables a quick entry into automation, reduces the need for specialized automation know-how, and facilitates the reliable implementation of unmanned manufacturing processes.
The integrated sequencing software provides a clear overview of the status of each pallet. At the same time, a fast and precise zero-point clamping, servo drives on all axes, and the option of an empty pallet for custom fixtures ensure practical and flexible pallet automation.

With a compact footprint of 5.8 m², the CP-450 is suitable for manufacturers seeking higher machine utilization and additional capacity without requiring a corresponding increase in personnel and labor costs. If necessary, the system allows manual access to the work area through the front door of the machine, thus supporting the flexibility required for high-variety production.
