For internal and external turning of hardened steel in miniature machining, ISCAR has the MINI-P-TURN indexable inserts (WSP) in its program. With CBN tips and a special P-chip breaker, the six-edged inserts ensure stable processes and provide long tool life.

ISCAR has equipped the new double-sided MINI-P-TURN-WSP with three CBN tips to process hard materials safely. Thanks to Ultra-Joint hard soldering technology with a soldering area 160 percent larger, they are rock solid on the carbide body even under extreme conditions and ensure stable processes during internal and external turning. For economical use and a smooth cut, the WSP features six positive cutting edges. Its special P-chip breaker allows for reliable chip control, short chips, minimizes cutting forces, and prevents vibrations.

This also results in top surfaces even in hard-soft machining. Users benefit from long tool life.

The new MINI-P-TURN are available in three different cutting materials, tailored to the entire spectrum of machining. For use in continuous or only slightly interrupted cutting, the IB12HC is employed. The TiCN-coated cutting material IB12HC offers very good thermal stability, high wear resistance, and allows cutting speeds of up to 230 meters per minute. For continuous to heavy interrupted cuts, the cutting material IB22HC is suitable. Its TiAlN coating makes it resistant to wear, chipping, and breakage.

IB29HC is coated with a multilayer AlCrN coating for very high fracture toughness. The cutting material is the specialist for heavily interrupted cuts and allows cutting speeds of up to 150 meters per minute.
