EVO Informationssysteme GmbH expands the ERP system EVOcompetition with a central function in the PPS module: assembly orders are automatically released - but only when all required components are actually available.
In the assembly of industrial assemblies, an order can only be processed and sensibly started when all required components are ready. For complex projects, this can involve several hundred components - from purchased parts to in-house manufactured parts to standard and connecting elements. If just one component is missing, the entire process comes to a standstill.
The new function in the PPS module of EVOcompetition continuously monitors all material inflows and outflows. Only when all components required for assembly are fully available is the order automatically released for assembly.
This offers several advantages in practice. There are no premature releases and, at the shop floor level, no 'incomplete' orders with missing parts. Accordingly, personnel and machine capacities are only utilized for projects that can actually be completed. This shortens lead times, and there are fewer downtimes in assembly. At the organizational level, fewer queries and no manual checks in the system are required before orders are released for production and assembly. All parties involved can focus on processing orders that require technical clarification in the project.
Thus, production planning and purchasing are also significantly relieved. Instead of constantly checking material lists manually, those responsible only deal with orders that are missing components. Assembly becomes calmer, more structured, and more predictable. And productivity increases - through clear processes and swift processing of orders in the assembly process.
The new function is now available in the PPS system of EVOcompetition.
