In almost every company, manual warehouses are an indispensable part of material supply – even where automated warehouses are in use. This is precisely why they represent a significant, often underestimated value creation factor. With KASTOlogic mobile, KASTO offers a mobile solution that digitally maps, structures, and makes manual warehouse processes transparent – regardless of whether an automated warehouse is present.

While production and administration are increasingly digitized, manual warehouses often still operate with established structures, paper lists, Excel spreadsheets, or an island solution that is not connected to the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). Typical challenges: Material is reported as available by the system but cannot be found, storage locations have historically grown, inventory counts are only approximate, or additional manual documentation costs time. Knowledge is held by individual employees, and in cases of illness or vacation, uncertainty and chaos arise. Each of these situations costs time – and potentially money.

This is exactly where KASTOlogic mobile comes in. The app brings central functions of the warehouse management system KASTOlogic to mobile devices and directly supports employees in the process. A digital assistant guides step by step through all tasks in the manual warehouse – from storage to order picking to quality control.

All warehouse processes controlled digitally and mobile

KASTOlogic mobile enables the structured mapping of all common warehouse processes: storage, rebooking, order picking, packaging, loading management, and quality control. Inventory is visible in real-time at any time.
Employees receive clear work instructions based on clearly defined workflows directly on the display of their mobile device. Control checks reduce errors and all bookings are made immediately in the system. Open orders are visible at any time. This saves trips, shortens search times, and significantly increases process reliability.
Especially practical: Damaged materials can be documented including photos. The system automatically locks affected inventories, thus preventing follow-up errors in production or shipping.

Transparency across all warehouse areas

Many companies continue to operate manual warehouse areas alongside automated systems. Until now, this often meant separate processes and different system worlds. KASTOlogic mobile closes this gap. The solution works as a stand-alone system for manual warehouses and can also be effectively combined with a KASTO automated warehouse.
This makes inventories available company-wide – for purchasing, sales, and production alike. Inventories are simplified, material movements are traceable at any time, and transparency increases across all warehouse areas.

One strength is adaptability

KASTOlogic mobile is flexibly applicable – from manual floor storage to decentralized storage areas to storage lifts, which are often used as tool or small parts storage. Multiple warehouses or location-spanning structures can also be centrally managed with the solution. All inventories and movements are transparently viewable and traceable at any time. The application can be adapted to individual processes and circumstances and can also support the integration of scales if desired.
As an end device, KASTO recommends robust industrial handhelds with integrated scanners, such as those from Zebra. In principle, however, the app also runs on other smartphones or tablets. Companies benefit from a quick implementation and a solution that does not require significant investments in additional infrastructure.
The result: less search time, fewer errors, more transparency – and thus noticeably more efficient processes in the manual warehouse.
