CemeCon, one of the world market leaders in tool coating, is setting the course for the future and realigning responsibilities on the board. In a market environment characterized by high volatility and dynamic changes, it is making a clear statement regarding stability for customers and partners.
Proven core team with new leadership
As of May 1, 2026, CEO Dr.-Ing. Oliver Lemmer will leave the CemeCon board. As a companion of the company's founder Dr.-Ing. Toni Leyendecker from the very beginning, Oliver Lemmer has been responsible for the organizational and technological excellence of the company from the start, before taking over as chairman of the board in 2022. He is now handing over the office and responsibility for the 350 employees worldwide to his long-time board colleague Dipl.-Ing. Bernd Hermeler.
Bernd Hermeler has shaped the company over the past decades. For over 35 years, he has worked in all areas of the company and has distinguished himself as a shaping force, starting in 2000 in various technical and commercial leadership positions and since 2018 as a member of the board, initially as CMO and since 2022 as COO of CemeCon. The comprehensive overview and profound knowledge he has acquired will also significantly contribute to the success of CemeCon in his new role.
Targeted reinforcement
The position of COO will be taken over by Christoph Feig, who will succeed Bernd Hermeler. The graduate engineer in materials science brings many years of experience in technical leadership roles: from 2004 to 2010, he worked in various technical areas at CemeCon. In the following years, he led large maintenance organizations at leading companies in the steel and aluminum industries. With his extensive management and leadership experience, as well as a strong understanding of technical service, Christoph Feig returned to CemeCon in 2024. Since then, he has been specifically prepared for his role as COO as part of a structured onboarding process.
Reliability and innovative strength
CMO and thus still responsible for the areas of sales, product management, and marketing remains Dr.-Ing. Beate Hüttermann. Having worked in the company since 1987 with various responsibilities, she has built up CemeCon's global sales and marketing structure over the years and has been successfully driving it forward as a board member since 2022.
