The Moulding Expo sets the course for the coming years. Tool and mold making is undergoing a phase of profound changes and challenges. In response to the current situation in the industry and after intensive discussions with exhibitors, Messe Stuttgart has fundamentally revised the concept of the Moulding Expo, the trade fair for tool, model, and mold making.

For the Moulding Expo 2027, exhibiting companies will benefit for the first time from all-inclusive packages. In addition to the significant reduction of the event from four to two exhibition days, these packages include fixed stand sizes, a uniform stand construction, as well as additional services such as parking, catering, lead management, and trade fair media.
"With the new concept, we are looking ahead," emphasizes Florian Niethammer, project manager of the Moulding Expo. "The goal is to make the Moulding Expo fit for the changed market conditions with our new orientation. We are making participation easier, more compact, more efficient, and thus more successful. Anyone who is passionately involved in European tool making can become part of the new trade fair concept with minimal effort and under more attractive conditions."

Many discussions with key players in the industry show: The innovations are widely accepted. "The further development is necessary and offers opportunities. This confirms our endeavor, as we want to maintain the important, independent visibility of the tool making industry and continue to provide a platform for exchange and solution finding," adds Florian Niethammer.

Companies affirm the relevance of the trade fair

Prominent exhibitors give Messe Stuttgart their approval for the new trade fair concept of the Moulding Expo. "Great that the Moulding Expo in Stuttgart remains the central point of contact for top-class mold making in 2027. The proximity to the hidden champions of the region is extremely valuable. Thanks to the compact duration and the all-inclusive packages, we can focus on what matters: our customers and their challenges," comments Eva Söhnlein, managing director of Hans Geiger Formenbau GmbH.

The location of Stuttgart, in the heart of Baden-Württemberg, is also a plus for the trade fair. Markus Jenny, head of product marketing & event management at Meusburger Georg GmbH & Co KG, explains: "The Moulding Expo 2027 is particularly important right now to keep European tool and mold making visible and competitive. For us, it is ideal due to its location, as many of our customers are based in southern Germany. The compact all-inclusive concept reduces effort and costs and increases efficiency - a clear added value for exhibiting companies as well as visitors."

Further positive signals from industry and association levels

Additional voices from the industry confirm the importance and the right timing of the realignment. Christian Thiele, press spokesman for Paul Horn GmbH, emphasizes: "Anyone who wants to experience tool, model, and mold making cannot miss the Moulding Expo at Messe Stuttgart. The industry is a key industry. The new trade fair concept focuses on the essential goals of attending the trade fair: finding solutions and gaining an overview."

The new concept is also receiving approval at the European level. Stephan Berz, president of ISTMA Europe, states: "Europe needs a European tool making fair, and the Moulding Expo has created the right structures with its new concept. We need to give the tool industry in Europe more visibility so that local tool procurement comes into focus. In difficult times, efficient, affordable trade fair concepts are needed - this has now been implemented by Messe Stuttgart. My appeal to companies: Get involved and show that we can do tool making in Europe and understand our customers."

New appearance and parallelism with Control

With the trade fair in 2027, the Moulding Expo presents itself in a new design. "A changed color scheme signals at a glance: Here is something new and completely different than before," says Florian Niethammer. The new claim "Mould making at its best" underscores the clear focus and high standards of the trade fair. It also creates space to make the concentrated expertise and know-how of the industry visible.
Once again, the Moulding Expo will take place on May 11 and 12, 2027, in parallel with the international trade fair for quality assurance, Control, thus providing visitors with immediate access to innovations and networks of both key industries.
