Andreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG (AMF) had to accept a revenue decline of around six percent to 42 million euros in 2025. The ongoing weakness in demand in the industrial sector persisted throughout the entire last year. Nevertheless, there were also positive developments. Certain markets in Europe, India, and America grew for the second consecutive year. Revenues in emerging industries also developed positively. For 2026, AMF sees signals for a return to the growth path. The company aims to address this with new, innovative products, a strong sales force, and high delivery reliability. The state-of-the-art logistics center inaugurated last summer is also expected to contribute to this.
"Despite the disappointment over the weak demand in traditional industries, we can also report positive developments for 2025," emphasizes Johannes Maier, managing partner of Andreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG in Fellbach. "And for 2026, we even see clear bright spots in the machinery and automotive sectors that give us hope."
Light and shadow in the classic industrial sectors
In 2025, AMF achieved a revenue of 42 million euros and had to cope with a decline for the second consecutive time. The ongoing weakness in demand particularly affected the traditionally important sectors of the automotive industry and mechanical engineering. In contrast, the construction industry, where AMF has been successful with its lock division for over 135 years, experienced growth again. There were also positive developments with revenue increases in the aerospace and defense sectors.
International markets again provided reason for cautious optimism. France returned to the path of success. India and the USA recorded significant growth for the second consecutive year. This reflects that AMF has been present in these markets for many years. Maier also sees the trade agreement between India and Germany as beneficial and aims to grow even stronger there in the future. AMF is also proud of the new, state-of-the-art logistics center that was inaugurated last summer. This positions the company well for a positive future and further internationalization.
Mechanical engineering shows signs of recovery
Despite continuing strict austerity measures, AMF wants to be a reliable partner close to its customers in 2026 with new, innovative products, a strong sales force, and high delivery reliability. Maier has noticed an increase in machinery sales from his customers since the beginning of the year and interprets this as a growth opportunity starting in the second quarter. "At some point, the investment backlog of the last two years in Germany and Europe has to be resolved," he says. And in the important US market, the company head still sees opportunities. "The market has become more complicated and difficult, but inflation has decreased and the economy is growing there." Thus, AMF wants to achieve one thing with continued cautious optimism in 2026: to stop the decline and finally return to a growth path.
