The Sieglinde Vollmer Foundation opens the registration phase for the Sieglinde Vollmer Prize 2026 and invites schools, clubs, and initiatives from the region to propose young MINT talents and committed initiatives. For the fourth time, young people are sought who work with enthusiasm and perseverance on topics from mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology. Nominations can be submitted until May 24, 2026.

Two prizes will be awarded: The 'Prize for Young People' honors extracurricular engagement in the MINT field and is endowed with 2,500 euros. Students from the 8th grade up to one year after their graduation can be nominated – by institutions in the Biberach district.

The 'Prize for Initiatives' is endowed with 4,000 euros and is aimed at groups, clubs, or working groups that are particularly committed to promoting MINT topics. This includes, for example, school working groups, youth groups, or club initiatives. Organizations can also apply for this prize themselves.

The focus is on students who are sustainably engaged in the MINT field outside of regular classes. It is not about individual brilliant achievements, but about people who convince through lasting passion for tinkering and making, ambition, continuity, and diligence – whether in projects, school working groups, or in clubs. The motivation comes from personal interest, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

Do you know such a MINT talent? Nominations are possible until May 24, 2026. A selection workshop will follow, where the jury will personally get to know the candidates – because the focus is on the person and their commitment.

The festive award ceremony is planned for July.
