With the UNISET-V basic plus, MAPAL bridges the gap between simple mechanical and high-priced CNC setting devices. The new tool setting device, whose initial delivery is planned for spring 2026, combines precision, robustness, and practicality specifically for large fine drilling tools.

With the new UNISET-V basic plus, MAPAL presented a manual setting device at EMO 2025 in Hanover, specifically tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. This closes a crucial gap between simple mechanical solutions and CNC systems. Nevertheless, full precision and high stability are guaranteed.

The device from the UNISET series was developed by MAPAL in response to the needs of the automotive industry. Particularly in the field of electromobility, large, heavy tools are often used for the production of stator housings, which must be set extremely sensitively for high-precision finishing.

However, many users do not have the appropriate setting technology and thus cannot achieve the precision possible on the tool side. Existing solutions like the MASTERSET quickly reach their limits with larger tools (from 200 millimeters). At the same time, CNC setting devices are not cost-effective for many small and medium-sized enterprises. Consequently, MAPAL developed the UNISET-V basic plus, a new device that convinces from both economic and functional perspectives.

Robust construction for sensitive setting of tools with guide rail technology

The UNISET-V basic plus is suitable for setting tools with a diameter of 100 to 400 millimeters, a maximum measuring length of 750 millimeters, and tool holders HSK63, HSK100, and SK50. Tool weights of up to 45 kilograms are possible. Reducing adapters allow for the use of HSK32 to HSK80. Since the housing of the UNISET-V basic plus is based on a stable welded construction, high mechanical stability is ensured. This is a crucial advantage in production environments.

As a stationary table device with a height of 1.30 meters and a weight of 179 kilograms, the UNISET-V basic plus does not necessarily need to be housed in a setting room. It can be placed anywhere with a stable base where it is needed, such as in close proximity to the machine where the tool to be set is used.

The UNISET-V basic plus allows for micrometer-precise setting of cutting edge overhang and rejuvenation for reaming and fine drilling tools. It is operated via a 2-button principle, where the cutting edge is adjusted using a guide rail.

The UNISET-V basic plus is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises that have previously done without precise setting technology. However, it is also the right choice for larger companies to set tools with large diameters and high weights reliably and with high precision.

Summary:

The UNISET-V basic plus is designed as a vertical table device. It bridges the gap between the entry-level product MASTERSET and the expert solutions UNISET-H / UNISET-V expert. Technical specifications: diameter range: 100–400 mm, tool weight: up to 45 kg, measuring length: up to 750 mm. The device is modular, allowing customers to choose between different options.
