With the TD610 Supreme, Walter presents a thread milling cutter family. The successor to the TC610 Supreme significantly outperforms its predecessor in terms of tool life and machining times according to the manufacturer. This is partly due to the highly wear-resistant HiPIMS coating WB10TU made of AlTiSiN: it is extremely smooth, robust, and resilient – and ensures a significantly higher tool life compared to conventional coatings. Additionally, the thread milling cutter features unique geometric characteristics, such as the 'Trumpet Neck', a tapering neck and flute geometry that reduces bending moments, prevents tool breakage, and allows for resharpening in case of wear.

The uneven spacing of the flutes minimizes vibrations, especially with short threads, thus improving thread quality and process reliability. This also applies to the special post-treatment of the TD610 Supreme: polished cutting edges reduce wear, increase stability, and thread quality even with the most demanding materials – while simultaneously increasing cutting speeds and reducing machining time. The full-tooth thread milling cutter is universally applicable for internal and through threads in all ISO materials of groups P, M, K, N, and S up to 48 HRC. Radius corrections are rare due to the stable process, making the TD610 Supreme suitable for both single production and low-labor series production. Walter offers the thread milling cutter in sizes M4–M20 for thread depths up to 1.5 × DN with and without internal cooling. It is particularly interesting for users with high demands, such as in expensive components.
