HG GRIMME SysTech presents proven, flexible, and turnkey automation solutions for the economical CNC machining of thermoformed parts and composite materials at K-Messe 2025. The machine manufacturer from Unterallgäu demonstrates how CNC machining centers can be efficiently automated – including robot integration, clamping devices, and programming. The system provider offers its customers ready-to-use complete solutions from a single source.

At booth A54 in Hall 3, the company provides an overview of various application possibilities. Among other things, the automated loading and unloading of a CNC machining center using a collaborative robot is demonstrated. Various exemplary automation scenarios illustrate the range of possible solutions. Both stationary industrial robots and mobile cobots are used.

Quality, skilled labor shortage, and labor costs drive automation

The demand for automation solutions has significantly increased in recent years. Key drivers include high quality requirements, the growing shortage of skilled labor, and rising labor costs. Against this backdrop, many companies are relying on integrated automation solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing manufacturing processes.

HG GRIMME SysTech develops customer-specific systems tailored to the specific characteristics of the components such as material, geometry, weight, and batch size. The spatial conditions and the CNC machining centers used are also taken into account. All components such as grippers, clamping technology, and control systems are developed and manufactured at the company's headquarters in Wiedergeltingen. Retrofitting existing machines is also easily possible.

Reliable handling and component-specific clamping devices

Particular attention is paid to the reliable handling of thermoformed plastic parts on the way to further processing. These are often hot, differently shaped, and are often placed inaccurately by hand, making automated feeding difficult. The solution lies in individual gripping systems and intelligent, camera-based image processing.

Component-specific clamping devices are another crucial part of the automation concept. They ensure that a workpiece is fixed precisely so that it can be machined accurately and with consistently reproducible quality. Devices from HG GRIMME ensure that each part is positioned in the same location on the milling table.

With its complete solutions, HG GRIMME SysTech targets companies that produce medium to large quantities starting from about 50 components, especially in the area of deep-drawn plastic and composite materials. Efficient applications are particularly evident in tandem operation with two tables or when using a robot to supply multiple machines in parallel operation.
