Under the main theme 'Power meets Precision', GMN presents a wide selection of innovative spindles for high-precision and powerful machining at EMO. Additionally, the company announces a technological partnership for digital technology with Weiss Spindeltechnologie (a business unit of Innomotics GmbH).
Visitors can see the IDEA-4S system developed by GMN for process monitoring and intelligent networking live in action at the trade fair booth.
The company also showcases a selection of its latest spindles for different requirements – for micro-machining, aluminum volume machining as well as for gear and internal cylindrical grinding.
A trade fair premiere is celebrated by the ultra-high-speed spindle HPD 80-300000/1.1 with a record speed of 300,000 min⁻¹, which is used in test applications and at test stands.
For the first time, GMN's spindle service presents itself with its own area at the fair. GMN will be present at EMO from September 22 to 26 in Hall 12, Stand C1.
Partnership with Weiss combines forces and offers customers more flexibility

GMN and Weiss Spindeltechnologie begin a non-exclusive technological partnership. Both companies respond to the growing demand for high-quality and efficient digitalization solutions that meet the entire application spectrum in spindle technology. By combining forces, both companies offer customers more flexibility. Spindle solutions from Weiss Spindeltechnologie can be combined with sensor systems from GMN in a coordinated package. This approach is particularly advantageous for customers who require individual sensor solutions as part of a project.
During a live demonstration, visitors can see spindles equipped with IDEA-4S from both manufacturers at GMN's booth. Weiss will show a live transmission of spindle data.
Delicate micro-machining and powerful aluminum machining
In addition, the Nuremberg machine builder presents an overview of its latest machine spindles. The new HCS 120-45000/10 is particularly interesting for users in medical technology, the watch industry, and micro-forming. The spindle with a diameter of only 120 mm delivers 45,000 min⁻¹ and 10 kW continuous power. It is specifically designed for delicate tools and fine machining steps. A sophisticated bearing technology ensures minimal vibrations and highest roundness accuracy.
A powerhouse for demanding milling processes is the high-frequency spindle HCS 230-30000/150. It features a maximum speed of 30,000 min⁻¹, 150 kW continuous power, and high thermal stability. Thus, it is particularly suitable for high material removal rates in the automotive and aerospace industries. The integrated spindle monitoring IDEA-4S enables condition monitoring and predictive maintenance in real-time.
Powerful gear grinding
As an efficient solution for demanding profile grinding in gearbox technology, GMN showcases the grinding spindle HGS 205-4000/37. It is designed for high grinding performance while maintaining extreme smoothness and is optionally available with an integrated grinding wheel holder. It offers users 37 kW continuous power and speeds of up to 4,000 min⁻¹.
Intelligent spindle technology for precise internal cylindrical grinding
The UH-X 100-60000/9 is intended for demanding tasks in internal machining. Thanks to its compact dimensions, speeds of 60,000 min⁻¹, and 9 kW continuous power, it is particularly suitable for tight installation situations. The integrated IDEA-4S system captures temperature, vibration, and speed. This allows for comprehensive process monitoring and digital networking in the context of Industry 4.0 applications.
Live Demo: Digitalization meets spindle technology

A special highlight of the trade fair is the demonstrator that shows the intelligent networking of spindle and supply unit live. Two high-frequency spindles with IDEA-4S and the new lubrication unit PRELUB GPi 4 Plus with IDEA-4LUB demonstrate smart sensors, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance in operation.
Visitors experience live how remote access to spindle systems at various locations ensures transparent processes – while sustainably increasing control and efficiency in manufacturing.
Unique 300,000 revolutions per minute for research and test stands

With the new HPD 80-300000/1.1, GMN also presents its fastest spindle to date. The high-speed unit with proprietary rolling bearings achieves a globally unique 300,000 revolutions per minute with a continuous power of 1.1 kilowatts.
It was designed for demanding applications that require the highest speeds with minimal bearing friction – for example, in aerospace research, medical technology, or at test stands.
Spindle Service
For the first time, employees of the spindle service provide information at the booth about the comprehensive services of the manufacturer in maintenance, repair, and modernization.
