The company from Eschenlohe meets the increasing demand for large, highly precise five-axis components. Trade fair visitors at EMO can experience the machine live in Hall 12, Stand D16. Additionally, Kern will present a Micro HD+ designed for series production and the laser machining center Femto E3.
With 160 square meters of exhibition space, Kern offers plenty of room for innovations at EMO 2025. The new Kern Fortis HD is not only the most important machine technically but also takes up the most space – measuring 4 meters in length, 2.8 meters in width, and 3.3 meters in height. This makes it the largest machine Kern has ever developed. A key feature is already hinted at by Managing Director Simon Eickholt: 'The Fortis HD achieves the accuracies of the Micro HD even at this size, which can be experienced in our live demo at the trade fair stand. Such results – by the way, also in series – have not been achieved by any other 5-axis machine to date.'
Another highlight is the Kern Micro HD+, introduced last year, which produces components from various applications live. The highly precise five-axis center demonstrates its high dynamics in multi-axis movements, even during roughing processes.
Equally interesting is the production of carbide press tools in action with the laser machining center Kern Femto E3. Such and similar components are the specialty of this machine. It achieves shape accuracies in the low single-digit micrometer range and surface qualities up to Ra = 0.1 µm.
