In collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the MAI Carbon excellence cluster of Composites United (CU), and bavAIRia e.V., the association of Bavarian aerospace actors, Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH invites you to the Aerospace Day 2025 on July 10, 2025. Under the motto 'We bring together what belongs together,' high-profile keynote speakers and other experts from industry and research will illuminate the challenges currently faced by OEMs and 1st-tier suppliers and how particularly small and medium-sized enterprises can optimally contribute their innovative strength and competencies. Exhibitors and practical live demonstrations will illustrate the answers that production technology has to the trends in the industry.
Topics of the Aerospace Day at the technology center of Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH in Bobingen near Augsburg include, among other things, the combination of materials, such as metals and CFRP, as well as the interplay of additive and subtractive manufacturing. The live demonstrations will focus on efficient and stress-free aluminum processing using an aerospace structural component as an example, as well as delamination-free processing of a CFRP component in a one-shot process that minimizes processing costs. Further demonstrations on 3D printing and machining of technical high-performance plastics with special tools from Hufschmied will revolve around the cost-efficient and process-safe production of drone components.

Lectures and discussions

Confirmed as keynote speakers for the event are: Norbert Peer, Managing Director, Premium AEROTEC (Airbus), Andreas Ockel, Chief Operating Officer, FACC AG, and Dr.-Ing. Andreas Erber, Managing Director, Mubea Aviation GmbH. Andreas Gundel, Managing Director of bavAIRia e.V., will open with an impulse lecture, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Kupke, Chair of Composite Materials Technology at the University of Augsburg and Deputy Director of the Institute for Construction Methods and Structural Technology at DLR, will moderate a panel discussion.

Accompanying exhibition

Numerous companies are participating in the accompanying exhibition, ranging from machine tools to materials and clamping, measuring, and CAM systems. These are partners with whom Hufschmied collaborates in optimizing manufacturing processes. Represented with information booths and partially involved in the demonstrations are: CMS, GROB-WERKE, Hexagon, HRC | ACTC, KraussMaffei, Lehmann&Voss, MHT, Mitsubishi Chemical, OPEN MIND Technologies, REGO FIX, G. A. Röd ers, Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen, SoniCut, VisCheck, WESCHU, Carl Zeiss IQS Germany, ZeroClamp, and Zimmer & Kreim.
In addition, there will be opportunities to prove oneself as a future pilot in the flight simulator of H3 GROB AIRCRAFT and to inspect a drone from Team HORYZN and a test rocket from WARR Rocketry up close.
