The most striking feature of the T1011 tool holder is a carbide pin at the rear of the cutting inserts. It prevents wear of the insert seat while the claw clamping of the system ensures a stable hold of the TS indexable cutting inserts. The holder can be equipped with four different types of indexable cutting inserts in two highly wear-resistant Tiger·tec Gold coatings. The type WMP22G allows for the highest cutting speeds; the universal type WMP32G is designed for 70% of all applications and maximum process reliability. Both types are suitable for ISO materials in groups P and M, and as a secondary application, for ISO S, N, and K. The combination of Tiger·tec Gold cutting inserts, stable clamping, and wear-protected insert seating increases tool life and thread precision.
The sintered geometries F5 and M5 ensure very good chip breaking properties. The F5 geometry produces very short chips on steel and stainless materials; M5 inserts allow for a softer cut when lower cutting forces are required. Precision-ground single and multi-tooth inserts complete the system. The latter reduce the number of thread deliveries, and thus the machining time, by up to 40 percent. A new, customer-friendly two-pack also contributes to cost-effectiveness and sustainability. This minimizes storage and procurement costs - especially where different threads need to be produced in small quantities. Walter initially offers the versatile TS system for the two most common insert sizes TS16 and TS22, as well as with various shank variants: in addition to square shanks from 12x12 to 40x40 mm, also for Walter Capto variants in C3 to C6. From April 2025, Walter will expand the program with new variants for internal thread turning.
