BoneCrusher achieves improved surface qualities without the use of cutting fluids. This makes machining resource-efficient, sustainable, and, due to the elimination of toxic fumes, also health-friendly. Dry chips save the user from the laborious cleaning of workpieces from clumped, adhering chips. The new process- and material-optimized, specially coated tools are now available in 16 standard sizes, with custom sizes available from Hufschmied upon request.

High-quality, burr-free milling results without lubrication – with the BoneCrusher, Hufschmied sets new standards in sustainability and efficiency in the machining of aluminum extrusion profiles. Previously, wet chips that sometimes stuck in cavities had to be laboriously removed. The presence of adhering chips posed the risk of damaging anodized surfaces or disturbing the KTL coating. Entire cleaning process steps are eliminated thanks to Hufschmied's dry machining tool. The pollutant exposure of machine operators due to coolants is eliminated, and dry chips are easier to recycle.

"We are pleased that with the BoneCrusher tool for machining aluminum extrusion profiles, we have succeeded in developing an efficient, durable tool for process optimization that is also resource-saving and sustainable, as it allows for the first time in this application to do without cooling and lubrication," explains Christel Hufschmied, Managing Director of Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH.
