Even in a challenging market environment, the family office SFO-N remains committed to its growth path in the field of plant and machinery construction and strengthens its portfolio through the acquisition of MATEC. Wolfgang Schepp, Managing Partner of the SFO Group, and insolvency administrator Dr. Dietmar Haffa from Schultze & Braun agreed on the acquisition of the service business of the machine and plant manufacturer MATEC, founded in 1992, effective March 1, 2025. The new company will operate under the name MATEC Service GmbH. The location in Köngen and around 40 jobs will be preserved with this solution.
Looking positively into the future
I am still enthusiastic about machine construction 'Made in Germany'. Therefore, we want to continue to successfully expand our portfolio in this area. With the acquisition of MATEC, we not only secure valuable know-how and modern service capacities but also provide many highly qualified professionals with a long-term perspective. We are convinced that the business model of MATEC's service business remains intact, has great potential, and that we are well positioned for the future. Together with our SFO portfolio companies SHW Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH and SHW Bearbeitungstechnik GmbH - based in Aalen - we will increase value creation and leverage synergies,” says Wolfgang Schepp from the SFO Group.
I am very pleased that our efforts in recent months have paid off, and the colleagues from MATEC can look positively into the future after the acquisition by SFO. Especially in economically challenging times like now, this is definitely a success,” says insolvency administrator Haffa.
