Axial turning with a depth of up to 10 mm is made possible by the new variant of the Mini 114 system from Paul Horn GmbH. The Tubingen tool manufacturer thus expands the high variety of this type family. The turning insert is suitable for axial turning as well as for copy turning of axial grooves. The user does not need a special clamping holder for use, as the cutting insert is compatible with the existing axial clamping holder system. As standard, Horn offers the turning tools in three different variants in grade EG55. The cutting inserts are available in stock with cutting widths of 2 mm, 2.5 mm, and 3 mm. The minimum diameter for turning is 14 mm. The maximum turning diameter ranges from 34 mm to 36 mm, depending on the variant.

The front-screwed cutting inserts of the Mini type are among Horn's core products. The tool system is suitable for turning and milling applications. The precision tools have proven themselves particularly in internal turning as well as in internal plunging and axial turning. With the vibration-damping carbide tool holders, the cutting inserts also produce good surfaces even with longer overhangs and ensure high process reliability. The wide portfolio of the Mini system offers cutting inserts in various sizes for different inner diameters, as well as different geometries, substrates, and CBN or diamond coatings.

An overview of the many variants can be seen in the Horn e-Shop from Horn.
