Emerging from Heckler & Koch GmbH, the young company SW has a rich tradition.
1981: operating under the name Heckler & Koch Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH as an independent business unit within the Heckler & Koch Group. The corporate group is highly innovative, with a wide range of products.
1991: then - takeover of the Heckler & Koch Group by British Aerospace.
Change. Concentration of the British corporation on defense, aerospace, and space technology. Spin-off of, among others, the machinery and plant engineering division.
1995: Management recognizes the opportunity: founding of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH. Shareholders: Walter A. Lamp and Dieter Kroll. An asset deal signals continuity, securing the assumption of all obligations to customers, suppliers, and employees.
2004: Acquisition of SW GmbH by EMAG, Salach
