After three compact and exciting days, NORTEC comes to an end today. From February 3 to 5, numerous decisive industry visitors with concrete projects came to Hall A4 of the Hamburg Exhibition Center.
Thus, NORTEC 2026 – despite challenging economic conditions – underscores its position as a trade fair for the industry in the north. 'The decision in 2024 to make the trade fair more compact and focused has been confirmed in recent days. The fair shows that it is still a reliable platform for the industrial mid-sized companies even in turbulent times,' emphasizes Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart. Dr. Markus Heering, Managing Director of VDW (Association of German Machine Tool Manufacturers) and co-organizer of NORTEC, also emphasizes the relevance of dialogue: 'NORTEC 2026 has once again shown the high value of personal exchange for the industry. In discussions with exhibitors, it became clear how valuable shared orientation and practical solutions are, especially in challenging times. Hamburg has once again proven to be a suitable and reliable location for this successful dialogue.'
Exhibiting companies appreciate the quality of the professional audience
Over the past three days, NORTEC primarily attracted decision-relevant professionals from production. Sascha Gersmann, Head of Marketing & Key Account Manager at Citizen, confirms this: 'NORTEC is characterized by the high quality of conversations and proximity to customers. The exchange is intense and at eye level – and that leads to successful results.' For Jan Oltmanns, Exhibition and Showroom Specialist at Mitutoyo, NORTEC remains an important industry meeting point with visitor quality: 'NORTEC gathers all the important players in the industry compactly in one place and is considered a must-attend event for many local companies. The fair attracts a highly qualified professional audience, including engineers, procurement specialists, plant managers, and decision-makers who are actively seeking solutions and partnerships.'
With an overall rating of 2.0, NORTEC 2026 also receives a good evaluation from visitors. Markus Horn, Managing Director of Paul Horn GmbH, summarizes: 'I am always positively surprised by how versatile and detailed the conversations are – especially regarding concrete application cases. You can tell that the demand for innovations, new solutions – including special solutions – and partnership support continues to rise. For us, NORTEC has a fixed place in the trade fair calendar – also in 2028.'
Electronics manufacturing and medical technology more strongly represented
This year, the electrical and electronics industry was particularly well represented – NORTEC recorded a significant increase here. For Rehm Thermal Systems GmbH, this trend was clearly noticeable: 'Our conversations show that this year significantly more industry visitors from electronics manufacturing are present at NORTEC – that's a nice sign. The new 22-meter-long production line we are involved in is perfectly placed and offers an ideal starting point for practical insights.' Medical technology is also more strongly represented in 2026. 'We are sensing a growing interest from the medical technology sector. In this area, we were able to gain many good contacts and leads,' says Sascha Gersmann, Citizen.
