ISCAR presents two tool holders with CAMFIX interface for process-safe turning: The CERMTURN holders with cassettes for ceramic and carbide cutting inserts as well as vibration-damping WHISPERLINE boring bars.

With ISCAR's new CERMTURN turning tools, users can flexibly, easily, and economically utilize the cutting inserts during turning. The highlight of the new tool holder: The CAMFIX tools feature interchangeable cassettes for RNGN and CNG cutting inserts made of ceramic and carbide. This provides high flexibility for machinists, allowing them to use multiple plate options with one holder and the different, securely clamped cassettes. If a cutting insert needs to be changed, the user can conveniently swap only the cassette instead of the entire holder.

For simple handling and a secure fit of the plates and cassettes, the stable top clamping with a carbide plate ensures a firm grip. The improved mechanism prevents brittle ceramic indexable inserts from twisting or breaking. For high surface quality, long tool life, and optimal chip control, the internal JHP cooling of the CERMTURN holders with four coolant outlets – two for chip removal and two for free surface – is guaranteed. The quartet transports the coolant directly to the cutting edge and cools it from two sides. The CAMFIX interfaces are available in sizes C5, C6, and C8.

New Integral Anti-Vibration Boring Bars

For the (internal) turning of all workpiece materials, ISCAR presents the new vibration-damping WHISPERLINE boring bars with CAMFIX interface. The proven WHISPERLINE vibration damping enables vibration-free machining even with long overhangs in all workpiece materials. The boring bars can be equipped with six different interchangeable heads for various indexable inserts and cutting tools. Internal coolant channels in the bars deliver coolant directly to the cutting zone – ensuring good heat dissipation, excellent chip control, long tool life, and top surfaces. They are available in CAMFIX sizes C3, C4, C5, C6, and C8, as well as lengths up to 9xD.
