From January 18 to January 1, 2000, Formnext will once again make the trade fair city of Frankfurt the most important international hotspot in the world of Additive Manufacturing. With a diverse supporting program that focuses on concrete applications in various industries, Formnext supports the further path of industrialization of Additive Manufacturing (AM). A total of over 800 companies are expected to exhibit at Formnext 2025, including the global AM elite. Visitors can secure their tickets in the online shop starting now and benefit from the attractive early bird discount until January 2, 2000.
‘Especially in times when the competitive situation is becoming increasingly challenging for many companies, Additive Manufacturing can make the crucial difference – either to make one's own production more efficient or to enhance and improve products with added value,’ explains Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President of Formnext at the organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. ‘The technology and knowledge needed for this can be found by companies from various industries at Formnext – and also the right contacts that enable new innovations to be brought to life with the help of AM,’ adds Christoph Stüker, also Vice President of Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt.
In 2025, Formnext promises again a high degree of technological innovations and world premieres from exhibitors, combined with numerous practical and application-oriented highlights in the supporting program, including this year's focus topics of aerospace, mechanical engineering, and jewelry and watches. Visitors can directly inform themselves about technological developments and applications and gain deeper insights through conferences, special exhibitions, and other program points.
Partner country Spain
Spain is this year's partner country and will present itself at Formnext 2025 with numerous innovative exhibitors. The country on the Iberian Peninsula not only has a very dynamic and rapidly growing AM industry but also serves as a bridge between Europe and Latin America due to its geographical location. Spain has traditionally been one of the strongest exhibiting countries at Formnext, with around 30 companies expected to exhibit in 2025. The Spanish AM industry particularly showcases its strengths in the areas of AM systems, materials, and research & development.
Diverse supporting program
The supporting program of Formnext 2025 impresses with high quality and a wide range. The freely accessible lecture program on three stages offers numerous opportunities for participants to exchange professionally. Renowned experts discuss current and future applications, technologies, and trends in the AM and manufacturing industry. The Industry Stage addresses overarching themes that concern the AM industry, such as sustainability, industrialization of AM, and design for AM. On the Application Stage, AM users share their experiences and expertise. And on the Technology Stage, innovations from exhibitors are presented. Additionally, the already established and very popular Discover3DPrinting seminars, conducted in cooperation with ACAM (Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing), will take place daily on the Application Stage. Here, beginners in AM manufacturing can gain an overview and important insights. Deep dives are also planned on topics such as large-format plastic 3D printing, the rise of DED technology, data-driven design, and scaling 3D printing.
The Formnext Awards will again honor outstanding achievements in six different categories, including young innovative companies, sustainable business ideas, and groundbreaking technologies. The public can also participate in the voting starting in early October. The exhibits of the finalists will be shown both online in advance of the fair and at a special exhibition, with the winners being announced in a festive award ceremony on January 1, 2000.
In the Start-up Area and at the joint stand Young Innovators of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK), young innovative companies present themselves and can establish important contacts, for example, with potential investors and cooperation partners. The companies in the Startup Area will also present themselves as part of a PitchNext event on January 2, 2000.
AM Jobs@Formnext – Job seekers can inform themselves about career opportunities in the AM industry. In addition to the job wall, there will be opportunities for career counseling and a photoshoot on November 20. The special exhibitions of Formnext 2025 provide deep insights into the world of AM applications: The VDMA presents a special exhibition on Additive Manufacturing in mechanical engineering. The special exhibition BE-AM showcases advanced developments in 3D printing in the construction industry through real applications. At the same time, the BE-AM Symposium on January 1, 2000, will present numerous backgrounds and future developments in this field. One day before the start of Formnext, the AM Innovation and Standards Summit@Formnext will take place on January 2, 2000, organized by ASTM International.
