ZT.de - Mr. Munier, you and Yamazaki Mazak are presenting here in Hall 7 15 as usual, with a very spacious and attractively designed trade show booth. Does this mean that major trade fairs still represent an important platform for you?
Bruno Munier - “Yes, such international events are undoubtedly of great importance to us. That’s why Mazak has decided to exhibit at EMO again in 2025 – and with even more machines than in 2023, despite the uncertain economic situation. At the same time, however, the question arises as to what such fairs will look like in the future. We are observing a significant decline in both exhibitors and visitors compared to previous events.”
ZT.de - The world and the global economy are changing very quickly right now. What are the biggest challenges for you as a globally operating machine tool manufacturer during this time?
Bruno Munier - “Our central task is to continuously develop new technologies and high-quality service solutions so that our customers can continue to benefit from Mazak in the future – particularly through increased productivity and efficiency. This is crucial for both our customers and Mazak to remain competitive – especially in light of the increasing competition from Southeast Asia.”
ZT.de - Mazak is showcasing a very wide range of machines for various application areas and industries in Hannover. Is a comprehensive and diverse offering the key to meeting the changing market demands?
Bruno Munier - “Mazak, due to its size and global presence, is able – and also obliged – to offer a wide range of products that find application in all industrial sectors: from aerospace to medical technology and energy industry to new, emerging sectors.”
ZT.de - You have announced some innovations for EMO. In addition to machines, automation and the new Mazatrol DX control system from MAZAK have been announced. Are automation and control just as important today as powerful machines?
Bruno Munier - “Yes, automation and control systems are – alongside new machine technologies – crucial success factors for the future. That’s why Mazak is specifically investing in the further development of our Mazatrol control system, which is unique in our industry.”
ZT.de - How satisfied are you with the current days of the trade fair and can you already recognize a trend in investment behavior?
Bruno Munier - “To be completely honest: This EMO exceeds our expectations significantly. Given the current demand in the European machine tool market – particularly in Germany – I have the impression that the fair is showing surprisingly high activity. Perhaps not necessarily in the number of visitors, but clearly in the quality of inquiries.”
Thank you very much
