At the end of 2024, Hoffmann SE underwent another sustainability assessment by EcoVadis and defended its silver medal with an increase in points. With 67 out of 100 points, the company improved, including all subsidiaries, compared to the previous year (63 points) and rose to the top 15 percent of companies evaluated by EcoVadis.
"When we first underwent the EcoVadis rating as Hoffmann SE in 2022, we immediately achieved a medal ranking. In the following two years, we have steadily improved. Our goal is to continue to enhance our sustainability performance in the coming years," explains Holger Quade, Senior Director Compliance, Risk & Sustainability at Hoffmann SE. "Environmental, social, and governance issues continue to hold a high priority for Hoffmann. Therefore, we will also vigorously advance the implementation of our sustainability strategy in our defined action areas in 2025 despite economic challenges."
In 2024, Hoffmann SE further increased its share of renewable energy and took additional measures to reduce CO2 emissions, with logistics and the fleet again in focus. The data basis and data quality were also further improved, and the sustainability reporting was expanded with more detailed ESG information.
Today, Hoffmann sources certified green electricity at all German locations and globally over 95 percent of electricity from renewable energies; the shipping boxes are made of over 70 percent recycled cardboard, and with GARANT GreenPlus, there is a sustainable product line in the program. This includes unmarked chemical-technical products, protective gloves made from up to 78 percent recycled material, and since 2024, also cutting tools made from 99 percent recycled carbide substrate.
